Interlibrary Loan Service

Woodburn Public Library strives to provide a broad variety of information resources to meet the diverse needs of the community. When a requested item does not exist in its collection, the Library will attempt to borrow it from other libraries within the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service. Items not available within CCRLS may be requested via interlibrary loan service (ILL). Through ILL, Woodburn Public Library patrons have access to materials from libraries throughout the United States.

Eligibility
To be eligible to request materials via ILL, a patron must have an adult CCRLS library card account in good standing with current contact information with Woodburn Public Library as their home library. Resident patrons may request a maximum of three concurrent items via ILL. Basic patrons may request only one item and will have to return any other item before checking out the ILL item. Woodburn Local Library Cards may not be used to obtain materials via ILL. Woodburn Public Library may revoke ILL privileges for patrons who do not return materials borrowed via ILL in a timely manner or who otherwise misuse the service.

Restrictions
Materials that cannot be borrowed include:
• Items published in the current year
• Textbooks
• Computer Software/Games
• Materials which are available on-site for use or borrowing at a CCRLS member library.
• Items checked out or with waiting lists at the lending library.
• Reference, rare, or archival materials are generally not available for loan.

Fees
There is no fee for placing an ILL request, and the Library will attempt to borrow material from libraries that do not charge a borrowing fee and ship through our participating library courier service. If the requested item is unavailable through these means, the patron will be responsible for any postage, insurance, and fees charged by the lending library.

Limitations
The lending library determines any lending fee, type of use permitted, length of loan, and availability of renewals. Renewals are generally possible, but may take a few days. To avoid overdue charges, please contact us before the due date when requesting a renewal. To maintain compliance with copyright laws, you may request one article per magazine issue at a time, and no more than 5 articles per magazine title per year.

ILL Lending
The Woodburn Public Library will loan material to other libraries free of charge. Because of our shared catalog, ILL requests must be sent directly to the Woodburn Public Library by fax (503-982-5258), mail, or email (reference@ci.woodburn.or.us)
