Welcome to the Community Services Department Home Page. The Community Services Department is responsible for operating the
Woodburn Public Library, The Woodburn Memorial Aquatic Center, Recreation programs, park planning and development, park and
picnic shelter reservations, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), the Woodburn Museum, and the Woodburn Weed & Seed Project. Visit our

We offer a variety of recreational opportunities for all residents of Woodburn. They include youth and adult sports, youth and
teen programs, senior trips, and community events. For more information check out our

Summer 2010 Community Events
Celebrate Pools, Parks, and Play
July is Parks & Recreation Month so bring the family out for some fun relays, games, and activities starting at the pool at 6:00pm followed by
ice cream floats and swimming at 7:00pm.
- When: Thursday, July 22nd from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.: Games, Relays, Activities and Ice Cream Floats
- 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.: Swimming and Water Activities
- Where: Meet at the Aquatic Center Front Entrance
- Cost: $2.00 includes admission and all activities
Downtown Music & Market Festival - July and August
The Chamber through its Woodburn Downtown Association committee is partnering with the City of Woodburn to create the "Downtown Music & Market Festival"
every Tuesday evening in July and August. Building around the successful Music in the Park series at the Library, vendors will offer food, crafts, fun
and games in the Plaza from 5 pm to 8:30 pm. Vendor booths of 10’ by 10’ are only $20 per evening or $160 for the full 9 week session. Electrical
connection is included, but vendors will supply their own tables and sun shade. Vendors preparing food on site will need to follow specific policies and
have a food handler’s permit.

Dog Days of Summer at the Pool
Enjoy a barbecued hot dog and swimming for one low price. We will host a traditional BBQ with lots of fun picnic games. Thursday, August 12. BBQ at noon on the lawn at
the Aquatic Center.

- Swimming begins at 1:00 p.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.
- Everyone meets at the Aquatic Center Front Entrance

Woodburn Proud Community BBQ
Join Woodburn Proud for an evening of fun with the community! BBQ, games & spending time with friends. This annual event supports the local Police, Fire and
Ambulance community, so please come show your support! Dinner provided with a suggested $3 donation. To volunteer or donate to the event contact Kelly Long-Howard

End of Summer Block Party!!!
Celebrate the end of summer with a block party on the south lawn of the Aquatic Center (near the tennis courts). We supply the hamburgers, hotdogs, and you
bring the rest such as chips, salads, cookies, and drinks.
