How to Apply
Apply for a library card at the circulation desk. Patrons will be required to show valid, government-issued photo identification, such as a driver license, a passport, or a consular identification card.
Patrons must also prove their current physical address, as the physical address determines the level of service provided. If the patron's government issued photo identification provides the current physical address, that is sufficient. Otherwise, patrons will need to provide proof of their address in the form of a utility bill, lease, bank statement, or credit card statement.
Patrons may use their library cards to place holds online by using the library catalog. Or, patrons may place holds over the phone by calling 503-982-5252 during library hours.
Renewing Your Borrowed Items
Patrons may use their library cards to renew items online by using the library catalog. They may also renew items using the 24-hour automated renewal line at 503-589-7740. Finally, patrons may renew items by calling the library circulation desk at 503-982-5262 during library hours.
Overdue library materials incur a fine of $0.25 per day for all items, including children's materials and DVDs, to a maximum of $5 per item. Patrons will be charged the list price for lost books and materials, and appropriate fees will be charged for damaged items.
